The valuable hand-crafted piece had drifted into the low tide of the south Zealand coastal waters near Vordingborg. After the find, the fisherman immediately phoned Vordingborg Museum and told them he had something they ‘would be very interested in seeing’, according to public broadcaster DR.
Vordingborg Museum’s curator then notified the National Museum, whose curator, Peter Vang Petersen, described the bracelet as ‘the find of the year’. Petersen added that the fisherman will receive a ‘handsome reward’ for the find.
