Danfoss: breakthrough for climate and energy technology
The industrial group is generating increased sales in climate and energy technology, especially in BRIC countries
Danish industrial group Danfoss, which employs 26,000 people globally, is seeing a breakthrough in sales of climate and energy technology, with the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) representing the highest growth in this area, reports professional journal Ingeniøren (The Engineer).
Danfoss has just published its half year results for 2010, which show the group increased its revenue by 25% to DKK 15.8 billion compared to 2009.
MD of Danfoss, Niels B. Christiansen, says: "We can now begin to put figures on the world's increased interest in climate and energy solutions."
In China for example, there is a major demand for Danfoss' cooling and air-conditioning products, and frequency converters, while in Russia, the demand is for products related to district heating and refurbishment of residential buildings.
Solar cell inverters is a new Danfoss business area, of which the MD has high expectations: "We reckon that this year we will generate revenues of around DKK 500 million in solar cell inverters. If we look two years ahead, I believe that solar cell inverters will contribute significantly to the overall results," says Christiansen.
