District Heating
Regardless of how many wind turbines are installed, the interconnected energy system of the future needs a flexible buffer, which can absorb surplus production from wind turbines, store solar energy, or use energy resources such as biomass, geothermal energy and waste. That buffer is district heating.
DISTRICT HEATING IS THE CORE OF TOMMORROW'S ENERGY SYSTEM
District heating is a flexible technology that can integrate renewable energy in the overall energy system. District heating is an indispensable technology, whose praises are generally unsung.
DISTRICT HEATING - OLD TECHNOLOGY, NEW POTENTIAL
Tomorrow's environmentally friendly heat will come from a system we have had since 1903. District heating recycles waste heat from industrial processes and generates heat from sun and wind.
SOLAR AND WIND ENERGY WILL SUPPLY DENMARK WITH HEAT
Heating in Denmark should be generated from solar and wind energy, recommends the Climate Commission. District heating utilities see a clear future in this area.
